Interview – Terje Eide “On The Rise”

Hi Terje (On the Rise)!

Q. You guys have done a great album!! How does it feel to release this album?

Terje:
Thanks a lot. It’s really quite nice to get such nice feedback. We didn’t expect anything special to happen without the reason that we had to make an album that we both wanted to do for a long time.

Q. What are you doing right now?

Terje:
We’re writing songs for the next album.

Q. How long have you guys played together as “On the Rise”

Terje:
It’s been about two and a half years now.

Q. Which influences do you guys have?

Terje:
Actually both of us are having a similar taste in music. There’s some difference in which artist that we like though. My influences in music are Van Halen, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Bryan Adams, Def Leppard, Ronnie James Dio, Ritchie Blakemore’s Rainbow, Journey, John Farnham, Steve Perry, Kiss, Steve Vai, Gary Moore & Toto. I’ve been influenced by these artists since the day I started to play. The reason why is that they’re representing the performance of high quality. In early days Bennechs musical influences was Bruce Springsteen. Later on he discovered bands like TNT, Journey, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, Dokken, Iron Maiden, Lynch mob, Toto & Van Halen.

Q. Is there any plans for some concert tour?

Terje:
Next year. First I think there will be a second album before we do anything live.

Q. Which is your favourite track on the album?

Terje:
Totally we both enjoy the whole album, and it’s even hard for us too to choose any favourites from the album. My favourites are “RUNNING IN THE NIGHT”, “THE MOMENT” & “STRANDED” Bennech’s favourites are  ”PRIDE”, ”LIFT YOU UP” & BEAT OF YOUR HEART.

Q. Have you done some another recordings that we can buy and listen to?

Terje:
This is the first international release for both of us. Locally and individually we’ve both been making demos and participated in other projects, and it’s not easy to get copies from earlier projects, cause it’s very infrequently stuff indeed.

Q. Are there any plans for another album?

Terje:
There will be another album, but there hasn’t been decided any time plan for it yet.

Q. Thanks for the interview and good luck in the future!

Terje:
Thanks, and lets hope AOR/melodic rock is getting back it’s thrown on the market again. There’s a lot of positive vibes out there. Keep on rocking – see you soon. TE
