Jesse Brewster – March Of Tracks

With elements of folk, classic country, southern rock and soul, Jesse Brewster has been dubbed as one of the new breed of the musical working class heroes. His 3rd album, “March Of Tracks”, was recorded as one song per month for 12 months, with each song being released monthly as a digital download to his fans. As with most indie artists, Brewster was trying to figure out how to make his record stand out in a sea of music. As the process of the new record began, he initially planned to release one single as a teaser, followed by the rest of the album later in the year. “All that momentum you build up for months while you track, mix, master and create artwork is released at one time with a full album release”, said Brewster, “ There’s this huge push and it seems like it’s over so fast – then you find yourself scrambling to keep attention on the album.” More information at Hemifran.

Sister Speak – Rise Up For Love

The year of 2014 marks the long-anticipated release of Sister Speak’s debut album ‘Rise Up For Love.’ With two Grammy Award-winning engineers on the board – producer-engineer Alan Sanderson (Fiona Apple, Rolling Stones) and mastering engineer Brian Lucey (Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys), the album has received rave reviews by press and fans alike. Led by Canadian singer-songwriter and guitarist Sherri Anne, Sister Speak combines captivating vocal melodies and rootsy guitar stylings with dynamic rythm and driving beats. After a five-year sojourn in Chicago, it was a Missy Higgins concert in 2007 that inspired Sherri Anne to no end to pursue music and set her on course. Within days she began to book shows, within months national tours – many without a car, which eventually landed her in San Diego where Sister Speak was formed. The vision – A collaboration of musicians in support of the expression of the female voice. The sunny city welcomed Sister Speak with a ‘Best New Artist’ nomination at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards. More information at Hemifran.

Bob Cheevers – On Earth As It Is In Austin

Bob Cheevers surprises us once again… This time by having the artistic courage to present 15 new songs with just his voice and his guitar. Well… There also were 15 of Austin’s most celebrated musicians stepping up to help him. Each of those musicians plays on one of the 15 songs with Bob giving them complete artistic freedom to play whatever part they heard on the song they were assigned. Magic was the result, and the album titled “On Earth As It Is In Austin” became Bob’s 10th commercial CD. The title and subsequent song of the same name came from a bumper sticker on the guitar case of Bob’s English guitarist pal Dave Greaves with those words on it. Little did Bob know that those words and that song would serve as the guiding light on the road to this brand new and totally refreshing piece of art from a true artist.
