GLIMTVIS Goes into Hibernation – Just for a Moment

GLIMTVIS releases the single Hibernate, which takes us into that moment when you just want to shut the world out.

A Safe Space in Music
Hibernate captures the feeling of temporary peace – being close, quiet, and present in a hideaway with the one you trust most – free from demands and expectations, while adult life rushes by outside. It’s about wanting to hold on to intimacy, even when you know it can only last for a moment – a small sanctuary from worries and the life you’re supposed to have under control.

“Hibernate is our little breather. It’s about that moment when you just need to close the world out and find peace together with someone you trust. We wrote it as a reminder to ourselves that it’s okay to unplug – even if life outside keeps running at full speed,” says GLIMTVIS.

A Ballad in Country-Pop Clothing
Lyrically, Hibernate resembles a ballad – but the music carries a strong country-pop drive – like a longing determination that doesn’t just sit around waiting to be rescued like the princess in a fairytale, but instead, with open eyes, seizes the moment despite doubts and possible pain.

Production with Edge and Intimacy
The single is produced by GLIMTVIS’ regular guitarist and musical sparring partner, Lucas Illianes, who has already produced several songs with the band. Together they have shaped the track into a tight, driving pop universe that at the same time holds on to its intimate and present atmosphere – while also making room for a violin that ties threads to GLIMTVIS’ Scandinavian americana sound.

About GLIMTVIS
GLIMTVIS is a Danish americana/pop band combining heartfelt storytelling with a strong melodic expression. In 2024, they released their debut album The Nashville Confessions, written during a stay in Nashville in collaboration with 12 American songwriters. The following year was spent touring Denmark, England, Sweden, and the USA, where the band quickly found an international audience. In Atlanta, they received the award International Band of the Year at the International Singer Songwriters Association Awards – recognition of their ability to bridge Scandinavian roots with the americana tradition.

Hibernate is GLIMTVIS’ first single release after the debut album and marks the beginning of a new chapter in the band’s musical journey.
