West coast duo from Sweden…

Visitors are a Swedish band made up of two guys Goran Danielsson and Svante Persson. Goran was born in Vingaker, near Stockholm and Svante was born in Malmoe in the southern part of Sweden. In 1985 Svante moved to Stockholm and quickly established himself as a session musicians, working with many Swedish artists such as Tomas Ledin and Eva Dahlgren. Svante is one of the most renowned keyboards players in Sweden, having toured all over the world with the Stockholm Symmphony Orchestra on its “Chess” tour, before it was set up in London. Svante met singer Goran during his time as a studio musicians and together they formed “Visitors”.

Svante and Goran write the music and melodies to the material and british born Roy Colegate scores the lyrics to form their wonderful melodic and interesting tunes. In 1985 they were signed by manager Roffe Persson of “Europe” fame who signed them to EMI for publishing and Virgin Scandinavia for recording.

First releases were in 1986 with singles “Do You Wanna Play” followed by “All Of Your Attention”, “Love Like A Mountain” and “Never So Blue” which quickly established them as one of Sweden´s premier acts and their popularity is immensely strong. Through 1989 to 1990 the guys were writing songs for their third album, “This Time The Good Guys Gonna Win” which was recorded in the summer of 1990, and in March of 1990 they were awarded a Swedish Grammy for “Pop Group Of The Year” which of course is a tremendous achievement by any standards and an immense boos to their career.

In the summer of 1988, Visitors topped the Iceland charts and consequently went there on a sell out tour, and a year later “Visitors” were invited for a guest appearance in connection with the New Music Seminar at the “Cat Club” in New York. They have had their records released all over the world, such as Germany, France, Canada and Japan to name a few. In 1992 the album “This Time The Good Guys Gonna Win” were released in UK.
